On Tuesday, One ASI Officer was killed and two policemen injured in a vicious gun encounter at Sopore town located in north Kashmir district of Baramulla.
According to Police, Police force started an operation of anti-militancy in Chanakhan range of Sopore, 55 KMs from Srinagar, with aid of the Army following information about the existence of attackers in the region.
In the anti – militancy operation of Sopore, one Assistant Sub Inspector of J&K police was killed and other three police officer of Special Operation Group injured in a cruel encounter between a search party and militants.
Police Officer of J&K said, “The point when the region was being fixed, militants concealing their opened attack and additionally threw a hand explosive in which one ASI, Kafeel Ahmed, was murdered and three policemen were harmed. Security constrains additionally countered.” The injured were sending to Srinagar for treatment.
The whole region was cordoned off and extra security powers hurried to avoid the aggressors from getting away. The exchange of firing between the two sides was on. The Security Force was assaulted around 10:30 am. This is the first strike by activists in 2014.
